QNU Industrial Services

Skilled officials are available to advise and represent nurses on entitlements in the workplace. On a daily basis union officials negotiate and represent members at the workplace and before various tribunals, including the Industrial Relations Commission on a variety of issues including:

  • Enterprise bargaining agreements
  • Wage rates
  • Leave entitlements, including family, parental and long service leave
  • Dismissals and reinstatements
  • Hours and rostering practices
  • Occupational Health and Safety issues
  • Time and wages checks (this is a check of your employer's pay records to ensure you are receiving all your correct entitlements
  • Grievances
  • Termination, change and redundancy (the union negotiates to ensure minimal job losses and that where necessary appropriate severance pay is paid)
  • many other issues relating to workplace conditions.
