Professional Indemnity Insurance

QNU membership includes professional indemnity insurance that provides coverage of up to two million dollars per year for each negligence claim.

A copy of the full policy wording can be viewed by members on request at the Brisbane, Rockhampton and Townsville offices of the Union.

Members are reminded that they must advise the union immediately of any circumstances that subsequently give rise to a claim against them. This is a condition of the policy and failure to do so may lead to the claim being denied by the insurer.  Members should not make any admission, offer a statement or promise of payment in respect of any claim that may be the subject of indemnity or incur any costs or expenses in connection with any situation without the written consent of the insurance company.

Members are covered for any breach of professional duty arising out of any negligence whether by way of act, error or omission on the part of the member in the conduct of the insured's profession.
