Occupational Health and Safety
As well as being an industrial issue, occupational health and safety is a top priority for the Union. The Union's OH&S strategy is to lower the high level of workplace injury and illness. This means an increased emphasis on prevention and on a better OH&S awareness in the workplace.
The QNU employs a full time occupational health and safety specialist who represents nurses at a national, state and local level on various boards and committees, and is involved in complicated Workcover claims and promotion of health and safety in the workplace.
