Haiti Earthquake Appeal
The Australian Red Cross has launched an appeal following a devastating 7.3 magnitude earthquake 15 kms off the Haitian coast at approximately 5.00 pm local time on 12 January 2010. Impact of AIRC award decision on QNU members
The majority of QNU members will not be affected by the AIRC decision to reject our request for a two-year delay to the implementation of new pay rates under the Nurses’ Award 2010 for Queensland and New South Wales nurses. This decision could however, affect some members (mainly working in aged care facilities) who are not covered by an agreement.

2010 QNU Training
The training program for the first half of the 2010 year is now available. Training courses are conducted throughout Queensland in metorpolitan, regional and rural areas. Courses are extremely popular and book out quickly. To avoid disappointment get your enrolment in early.

Scholarships & bursaries
QNU members can now apply for the 2010 scholarships and book bursaries. On offer are scholarships for RNs, ENs, AINs and student conference observers. There are also student and Bauer-Wiles book bursaries available. All QNU members are welcome to apply. Applications close on Monday 7 June 2010.
