Tell the Prime Minister: Aged Care can't wait

Published: 20 October 2011

If you want to improve your wages and gain the right mix of nurses in your workplace then you should get involved in our fun, new Because We Care campaign activity.

We’re running a photo competition with a great $300 prize!

In August the Productivity Commission released its highly anticipated Caring for Older Australians report.

Disappointingly, this report doesn’t offer any real solutions to fixing Australia’s under-resourced aged care sector and fails to ensure quality care for elderly Australians.

The commission says that wages and staffing levels/skills mix are an immediate problem but then recommends a timeframe of three to five years to establish a new statutory body to examine the issue. Even then there’s no guarantee that the new body will support our claims.

Aged Care can’t wait any longer.

Help us call on Prime Minister Gillard to stay true to her commitment to make aged care a second term priority.

Enter our photo competition to send your ‘Aged Care can’t wait’ photo message to Prime Minister Gillard today.

The most creative photo featuring our ‘Prime Minister: Aged Care can’t wait’ poster will win a $300 gift card.
