ACTU resources
The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) is the peak council which represents the union movement at a national level. Most unions, including the ANF, are affiliated to the ACTU.
The ACTU addresses issues which affect all union members and coordinates the activities and campaigns of unions nationwide.
In 2010 Ged Kearney was endorsed as President of the ACTU. She is the first nurse to hold a full-time leadership position at the peak council. Previously she was Federal Secretary of the Australian Nursing Federation.
As well as the national body, the ACTU has state branches such as the Queensland Council of Unions and Provincial Councils.
