Charter for Working Australians

Published: 30 May 2011

This week the Queensland Council of Unions launched a major campaign to ensure politicians act on issues concerning working Queenslanders.

Watch a news report on the launch here.

Between now and the next state election, the QCU will ask leaders from all parties to publicly commit to the Charter for Working Queenslanders.

The Charter is a comprehensive set of policies and action that will benefit more than two million working Queenslanders in our state. You can find out more here on the Charter website.

They cover areas of vital importance to working Queenslanders - skills training and support for local industry, safety at work, delivery of services like health and education, and fairer workplaces.

Responses from our politicians on these issues will soon be recorded and published on the Charter website - www.charterforqld.com.au - so all working Queenslanders can decide which party's policies will benefit them as the state election draws closer.

The Charter will ensure that our politicians are held accountable to policies that benefit working Queenslanders now and into the future.
