Your leadership team
Under the QNU’s democratic structure, our Council is responsible for doing all the things necessary to achieve all of any of the objectives of the Union’s Strategic Plan, which determines the direction of the QNU.
The QNU Secretary and Assistant Secretary are members of the QNU Council as well as full-time employees of the Union.
The Secretary is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the union and its staff, and for implementing Council decisions.
The Assistant Secretary is responsible for assisting the Secretary and assumes the full duties of the Secretary in longer absences.
Secretary Gay Hawksworth and Assistant Secretary Beth Mohle are working hard to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political and democratic values and interests of members.
Secretary
Gay Hawksworth has been Secretary of the QNU for the past 14 years. Under her leadership, the QNU has become a strong and effective professional and industrial body which represents the interests and values of nurse and midwife members. Read more »

Since becoming Assistant Secretary in January 2007 Beth Mohle has worked hard to advance the industrial and professional interests and values of nurses and midwives working in all sectors across Queensland. Read more »
