Annual conference

Carried conference resolutions from past conferences
QNU Annual Conference is the supreme policy-making body of the QNU and decisions made there are compiled to form the basis of the union’s future activities.

The decision-making structure of the QNU is democratic and the participation of all members is fundamental to our effective functioning.

The QNU Annual Conference gives members, through their respective Branches, the authority to debate the union’s direction and policies and ultimately formulate the policy which governs the Union.

Decisions made at Annual Conference, which is held between June and August each year, are referred to QNU Council for ratification and implementation.

QNU members, through their local branches, are encouraged to submit motions for the QNU Annual Conference.

Delegates to Annual Conference are elected by QNU branch members to attend on the branch’s behalf. Formal elections of branch delegate positions are held every two years.

Branch delegates to Annual Conference are expected to vote in accordance with decisions made by the branch members they represent.

Additional, each Annual Conference elects members to the Industrial and Professional Policy committee which operates between Conferences to assist with the development of policies.
