QNU members have the most important role in our Union.
Every day, members throughout Queensland work together through the QNU to achieve better outcomes for Union members.
QNU members work collectively to achieve improvements to working conditions and on issues which affect our profession. QNU members also play an important role in representing the values and interests of all nurses and midwives.
There are many opportunities for QNU members to get more active in our Union by taking on one of the following formal roles:
- QNU workplace contact
- QNU workplace representative
- Branch executive member
- QNU representative on an enterprise bargaining negotiating group
- QNU representative on a consultative committee
- Workplace Health and Safety Representative
- QNU activist
To find out more about these roles click here. The QNU also provides specific resources, materials and training for these roles.
QNU members are also encouraged to get involved in local workplace campaigns, sector-wide campaigns and union-wide campaigns. The success of any campaign is dependent on the level of active and informed members, so get active today! Click here to find out more about current QNU campaigns.
